In January, 2010, I decided that I'd had enough.

Just...enough.

So I launched Bringing (aunt) Becky Back (I cannot, have not, and will NEVER call it any form of "self-improvement," because that term makes me twitchy and vomity inside).

2011 was the year to bring my happy back -  the BB2G Bringing The Happy Back World Tour. I aimed for the small things: Flavored coffee. More orchids. A new coat of paint in my bedroom. More time being still. Reading alone. Taking a bath. Doing silly things just to do them. (also: therapy. Lots of therapy)

2012 was the BAND BACK TOGETHER WORLD TOUR. We plotted total World Domination, took a good hard look at ourselves, brought the happy back where we could, flung glitter when we couldn't, and slowly - but surely - started to take over the world. Save The Band, Save The World.

But we have a long way to go.

2013 is the year for ALL of us to Bring Our Happy Back.

This isn't some weird kind of New Year's Resolution trick because you know what I think of New Year's Resolutions?

That about sums it up.

It's a New Year's REV-olution. It's time to take a hard look at the things in your life that you want to change and finding the small things you can change.

Each month we'll be focusing on a different World Tour Theme - we can't wait to see what you've got for us!

So bring it, 2013. And suit up, Pranksters. It's time to Get Happy.

Monthly Themes for 2013:

January:

World Tour Theme: "One Day I'm Gonna." Dreams. We all have them. Some dreams are as simple as getting a full night's sleep or getting an extra twenty minutes in at the gym. Others are more complicated - going back to school, making partner at your firm, taking that dream cruise through Alaska. But we all have them. Sometimes, our dreams are what keep us going through the very darkest of times.

So what are your dreams, The Band? What will you do one day?

February:

World Tour Theme: "Project Happy!" It's time to bring the happy back - how do you keep your happy alive? What makes you happiest?

March:

World Tour Theme: "Project Self-Care/Self-Love." How do you take care of yourself? How do you manage to do the little things when life feels overwhelming? Share some of your coping strategies and the little ways you take care of YOU!

April:

World Tour Theme: "Take Back The Power." Most of us, well, we've been through some garbage in our lives - and we've given power to a lot of people who simply don't deserve it. It's time to take back the power - why don't you tell us about how you came through it all... and survived.

May:

World Tour Theme: "I Am The Face Of..." One of the most important things we can do in our lives is to share our experiences so that we can learn, heal, and grow. What are you the face of?

June:

World Tour Theme: "Project Me." By a certain age, we're all expected to have figured out who we are and what we want in life. Unfortunately, that's not always so easy, with all the pressing demands that life places on us. So what makes you, well, YOU? What do you want from your life? What makes you unique? Who are you, really?

July:

World Tour Theme: "Project Simplify." Studies have shown that reducing the clutter in your home leads to greater levels of happiness. So what do you want to get rid of? How can you simplify your life? And we're not just talking about your bedroom getting cleaner - how can you simplify your daily life?
