This has been a really fun weekend. We have a holiday in the US today -- we celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Federal holiday = no mail = no bills = no trash pickup = no school. That last one also = no work getting done.

The most exciting thing I did this weekend, that I'm carrying with me this week, was making time for ME.

Last week, Katherine from Postpartum Progress and Miranda from Not Super Just Mom decided we lived too dang close to each other not to get together.

We met Saturday morning for brunch. Took us all about 20 minutes to get to a central location. We enjoyed a 2.5 hour brunch without kids and without husbands. It felt indulgent.

That sounds strange. A brunch with girls felt indulgent. I need to indulge more often. I need to be good to myself.

I realized later that afternoon when I went to put on my lipstick that it was empty. And by empty, I mean it was concave and i would need a scraper to get any more out. I've been putting it off for a few weeks.

Why? Because I don't want to spend $30 on myself for some lipstick. That's just wrong. So dammit, I'm taking myself to get lipstick today. And I'm going to wear it. I'm going to be happy when I put it on and make sure when it wears off, I reapply.

My lipstick is going to be indulgent and make me happy.
