This is different kind of "dear me" letter. I've considered writing them before. Had many drafts saved in Word. Then, deleted and immediately dumped from my "recycle bin." So this letter I want to write. It's not to my much younger self...it's a letter to me in my early 30's, right after I gave up on life.
Dear T-Rex (get used to that because you start calling yourself that later on in life),
You've been through a lot, no one is going to deny you that. But I need you to know something.
As you inch toward your late 30's, you actually start to believe that. You come to understand and (essentially) become thankful for the abuse you endured. If you had not suffered, you would not be the person you are today.
And frankly...you're a fucking rock star. So thank your abusers. If it hadn't been for them, you would never have shined so bright.
P.S. You get to meet Bill Moseley later on in life. If that's not worth sticking around for, I really don't know what is.
