Hi, The Band!
It's me, Your Aunt Becky, back for another Wednesdays Sound-Check With The Band. Hope that this last week of June (did I seriously just type "last week in June?") finds you all well.
I've been busily scheduling and editing your posts, while churning out new and awesome resource pages. I have more fun writing resource pages - it really brings out the nerdom in me!
It's time for another Sound-Check Wednesday! This is the time you get to learn about ALL the fun stuff we do behind the scenes to run a site like ours!
If you're at all interested in helping out with the site, we have pretty rad teams, if I do say so myself (and I do).
We have teams for commenting, writing resource pages, running our social media, and other types of promotion.
Why?
Because we need to get the stories that you (yes YOU) write in front of the people who need them - so that we each feel the truth: we ARE none of us alone; we are all connected.
So if you'd like to work with us, or simply tell people about our site (yes YOURS), that would be fabulous. You never know who might be out there, looking to read your (yes YOUR) words.
(and we don't ask for promotion as a way to get more site clicks or anything - we're ad-free and we rely on donations to keep the site up and running).
I realized that our donate button has been offline since we moved to the new site. Here it is!

We currently are in desperate need of a computer person - a programmer and web designer - like you can't even imagine.

Tonight, we're running our weekly #withtheband Twitter chat from 7-8CST. It's going to be a mish-mash; something for everyone. The topic? "I Overcame."

Since I can barely read a map (let alone own one) I have no idea where you guys live. But, I'm inviting you join us in Chicago on September 15 in Grant Park to walk as The Band for NAMI, one of our favorite mental health resources!
The link to sign up is here - we're not asking for any donations or anything, we'd just like to hang out with you while we walk through downtown Chicago on a Saturday night. And? If I can get enough people to sign up, I'll order (and donate) some snazzy shirts for our team!

Submissions have been a little down these past few weeks, what with summer being here and all that jazz.
We're always accepting submissions; no story is too small to be told.
There are a great number of posts in our drafts - if you've meant for your post to go into the site to be edited and published, please double check that you've submitted it! We'd hate for you to think that we were intentionally ignoring you.
