Living with schizophrenia can be one of the hardest mental illnesses to handle.
This is her story:
If only all of them weren't real.
A lot of them are real, which doesn't make them any easier to dismiss. Even now, I hear the auditory hallucinations with each word typed. Longer moments without such non-existent audibles happen until the abuse starts again. Then the cycle begins, no matter how much I plead for it to stop.
So how do you convince someone who is close to believe in you even through most of this? How do you convince them that their behavior is trigger when they enjoy making you angry? What is left to do when you are being stalked and not even your most loved one will be there for you?
And, of course... the one thing to do is to escape. All of it. To give up; to leave the rumors and harassment behind. Then, I wouldn't have voices asking me for false stories all of the time.
If I'd just admit defeat.
